{"id":4835,"date":"2009-05-26T07:45:21","date_gmt":"2009-05-26T12:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=4835"},"modified":"2009-05-26T07:45:21","modified_gmt":"2009-05-26T12:45:21","slug":"whats-not-to-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=4835","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Not To Love?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>School choice in all its various forms &#8211; charter schools, open enrollment, vouchers in their various forms (scholarships, tax deductions and vouchers themselves) and easy access to homeschooling &#8211; have been a boon to millions of kids, not only improving the education the vast majority of them get, but doing it at inevitably less cost to the taxpayer.<\/p>\n<p>So of course, the Dem majority in Congress (like that in Saint Paul) needs to destroy it, for the benefit of the Educational-Industrial Complex that so many of them serve.<\/p>\n<p>Kathryn Jean Lopez on <a href=\"http:\/\/article.nationalreview.com\/?q=NTQ0ZDdiYzViMDAyYTViMGU2N2I0ZDdhZmI0YzNkNjM=\">the Obama Administratin&#8217;s push to scupper the DC Opportunity program.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The program&#8217;s a success, increasing achievement scores.\u00a0 More importantly, it&#8217;s improvements are persistent:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Unlike other programs under which students backslide when they switch schools, some children enrolled in D.C.
