Then a buyer must check his or her race: Indian, Asian, black, Pacific Islander or white.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now, the purpose of the form <em>is supposed to be <\/em>to collect information needed to screen potential purchasers for criminal background.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So what&#8217;s race got to do with it? \u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;\u201cThis issue concerns me deeply because, first, it\u2019s offensive, and, secondly, there\u2019s no need for it,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/evan-nappen\/\">Evan Nappen<\/a>, a private practice firearms lawyer in New Jersey. \u201cIf there\u2019s no need for an amendment, then there\u2019s usually a political reason for the change.
