and propose what is merely populist vote-getting &#8216;benefits&#8217; for the ever-increasing not-1% who benefitted from Ben Bernanke&#8217;s bubbles &#8211; we thought the following\u00a0<strong>burger-flipping robot was a perfect example of unintended consequences for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2013-07-29\/us-fast-food-workers-strike-demand-100-pay-raise\">fast food industry&#8217;s workers<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh, my.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.viceland.com\/viceblog\/66257674robot-burger-breakdown.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s produced by a what, you say?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With humans needing to take breaks, have at least 4 weekend days off per month, and demanding ever-increasing minimum-wage for a job that was never meant to provide a &#8216;living-wage&#8217;,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/momentummachines.com\/#product\">Momentum Machines<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; a San Francisco-based robotics company has unveiled the &#8216;Smart Restaurants&#8217; machine which is capable of making ~360 &#8216;customized&#8217; gourmet burgers per hour without the aid of a human<\/strong>.\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2013-11-12\/biggest-threat-minimum-wage-restaurant-workers-everywhere\">First Jamba Juice<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2013-12-05\/fast-food-workers-go-strike-100-cities-applebees-unveils-waiter-terminator\">then Applebees<\/a>, next McDonalds&#8230;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The end result &#8211; says the company?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.viceland.com\/viceblog\/29634605robot-burger-completed.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are those on the left who say that it&#8217;s inevitable, that robots were\/are going to replace humans in fast-food kitchens anyway. \u00a0The statement itself betrays ignorance about how economics work; the artificial acceleration of wages for what was never intended to be anything but entry level jobs where people trade low-skill labor for low-skill wages and &#8211; for the smart ones &#8211; work experience. \u00a0As the jobs got priced beyond what the labor was naturally worth to the market, the imperative for the &#8220;robots&#8221; grew.<\/p>\n<p>The opportunity is there, of course, for those who are smart enough to see it and develop the skills for it; for people to build, sell, install, program, maintain and repair the &#8220;robots&#8221;, this is going to be the good ol&#8217;
