It prohibits tar paper siding, houses smaller than 1,000 sq. ft., building too close to the lot line, private sewers, etc. That\u2019s how private developers maintained neighborhood standards before zoning came along.<\/p>\n<p>This particular deed also says: \u201cThis lot is sold on the express covenant that it shall never be occupied for the purpose of doing a liquor business, nor for any immoral use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Put me in mind of our recent discussion on legislating morality.
