{"id":4195,"date":"2009-02-11T13:25:14","date_gmt":"2009-02-11T18:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=4195"},"modified":"2009-02-11T13:04:32","modified_gmt":"2009-02-11T18:04:32","slug":"sublime-to-the-ridiculous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=4195","title":{"rendered":"Sublime To The Ridiculous"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the one hand, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/speakingoffaith.publicradio.org\/\">Speaking of Faith<\/a><\/em> is one of my favorite programs on Public Radio.\u00a0 Their current episode, discuss<a href=\"http:\/\/speakingoffaith.publicradio.org\/programs\/2009\/darwin\/\">ing the relationship between Charles Darwin and faith<\/a>, is particularly good &#8211; exploring a conflict between reason and faith that (to the chagrin of atheism-pimps like PZ Meyers and Richard Dawkins) needn&#8217;t exist at all.\u00a0 Leaving aside the overarching moral objection to government-supported media (to the extent that public radio <em>is<\/em> government-subsidized &#8211; neither total nor trifling), it <em>is <\/em>the kind of program you can not find anywhere on the commercial media, and yet is something I&#8217;d hate to do without.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;d be &#8220;Sublime&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>On the &#8220;Ridiculous&#8221; side, we have <em>SoF<\/em>&#8216;s online-only production, &#8220;Repossessing Virtue&#8221;, a series of podcasts ostensibly about the spiritual aspects of the current economic crisis.\u00a0 They don&#8217;t seem to involve Tippett, but rather other parts of the shows cossack-horde-like herd of producers, who&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;well, that&#8217;s the interesting part, isn&#8217;t it?
