If global warming is causing the snow in Atlanta today, it must have been blazing a century ago when we saw the\u00a0Great\u00a0Blizzard\u00a0of 1888<\/a>\u00a0on the East Coast.<\/p>\n
The prairies have always had blizzards, going back to the\u00a0<\/span>Schoolhouse Blizzard<\/a>\u00a0followed by the<\/span>Armistice Day Blizzard<\/a>\u00a0in 1940 and the\u00a0<\/span>1952 Blizzard<\/a>. Nobody thinks anything of them \u2013 it is supposed to snow like mad on the prairie and that\u2019s not evidence of anything.<\/span><\/p>\n
But Lake Superior\u00a0<\/span>is freezing over<\/a>\u00a0for the first time in decades. \u00a0Duluth is having the\u00a0<\/span>coldest winter<\/a>since Kennedy was President.\u00a0 That\u2019s got to stand for something.<\/span><\/p>\n
