{"id":41756,"date":"2014-02-13T12:00:37","date_gmt":"2014-02-13T18:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=41756"},"modified":"2014-02-13T12:35:59","modified_gmt":"2014-02-13T18:35:59","slug":"signs-weve-turned-the-corner-to-madness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=41756","title":{"rendered":"Signs We&#8217;ve Turned The Corner To Madness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last years, I noted a number of episodes of police seemingly blazing away without much regard to actual &#8220;public safety&#8221;; a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2012\/08\/25\/jeffrey-johnson-nyc-shooter-details-harassment-steve-ercolino_n_1829977.html#\">shooting incident <\/a>at the Empire State building in New York City where eight of the shooting victims were innocent bystanders shot by cops responding to the shooter (who was killed after being hit several times)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and, most ominously, the erroneous shooting of two women during the manhunt for rogue cop Christopher Dorner.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/jonathanturley.org\/2014\/02\/12\/eight-police-officers-fire-103-times-at-two-unarmed-women-delivering-newspapers-commission-rejects-calls-for-any-officer-to-be-fired-or-even-suspended\/\">Cops fired 103 shots at the women<\/a>, who were riding in a pickup truck that didn&#8217;t resemble Dorner&#8217;s, had no weapons, and were delivering newspapers.<\/p>\n<p>Both\u00a0officers were cleared of any wrongdoing in the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>The scary part?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It is also worth noting that, if this were Dorner in the truck, it would have been highly questionable as a justified shooting since no weapon was present or shown to the officers. None of that seems to matter.
