I was thinking of changing careers to become a writer but the Blue section represents\u00a0<\/span>an income of zero<\/a>whereas the $100,000 group is the sliver of Green.\u00a0 Odds not looking so good to be a paid professional.\u00a0 I think I\u2019ll keep pelting Mitch with emails; he can publish what he likes and delete the rest.<\/span><\/p>\n

The crazy thing about American copyright law is they assume nobody will write or sing or paint without guaranteed income from the performance.\u00a0 But my experience is you can\u2019t stop people from writing and singing and painting, just for the pleasure of it.\u00a0 Sure, it\u2019d be nice to make a few bucks to support the hobby, but artistic spirit is wholly unrelated to business management. \u00a0Mitch couldn\u2019t stop writing even if he had to pay out of his own pocket for the privilege of keeping up the website to post his writings. [Wait, he does?\u00a0 Well there you go, proves my point].<\/p>\n

Which, by the way, is how I know Barak Obama didn\u2019t write his own books.\u00a0 He\u2019s not a writer.\u00a0 He\u2019s a talker.\u00a0 A very good talker, yes, but oral storytelling is a completely different artistic ability from writing.\u00a0 Mitch can\u2019t stop writing.\u00a0 Obama can\u2019t stop talking.\u00a0 That\u2019s just in their character.<\/p>\n

And that makes me wonder . . . Hilary will be the next President.\u00a0 What\u2019s in her character?\u00a0 What is it that she just can\u2019t stop doing?<\/p>\n
