{"id":4052,"date":"2009-01-22T06:14:38","date_gmt":"2009-01-22T11:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=4052"},"modified":"2009-01-22T06:14:38","modified_gmt":"2009-01-22T11:14:38","slug":"pay-no-attention-to-the-imam-behind-the-curtain-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=4052","title":{"rendered":"Pay No Attention To The Imam Behind The Curtain!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Remember when Katherine Kersten wrote about some perceived irregularities at Tariq Ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), an Islamocentric charter school in the southeast &#8216;burbs of Saint Paul?<\/p>\n<p>George Soros&#8217; minions <a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnesotamonitor.com\/tag.do;jsessionid=49310F90433DEE9881859B459FCA64B8?tag=Tarek+ibn+Ziyad+Academy\">tut-tutted<\/a> (when their heads weren&#8217;t bursting with ad-homina)<br \/>\nDavid Brauer snarked &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnpost.com\/davidbrauer\/2008\/09\/10\/3469\/kerstens_latest_tiza_blast_the_missing_context\">Nothing to see here, wingnuts<\/a>!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/details\/MinnesotaRep.GreilingOnKerstensTizaColumns\">politicians <\/a>got into the act, all but demanding Kersten be dropped off a bridge in a sack full of cats.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing but calumny for the uppity wingnuts who dared question the left&#8217;s &#8220;nothing to see here&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s not over.\u00a0 TIZA is being hauled into court by those bitter, Jesus-clinging gun nuts at&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/local\/north\/38034459.html?elr=KArksLckD8EQDUoaEyqyP4O:DW3ckUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUUT\">the ACLU?<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis against Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy, known as TIZA, and the Minnesota Department of Education, which the ACLU says is at fault for failing to uncover and stop the alleged transgressions. The suit names the department and Alice Seagren, the state education commissioner, as co-defendants.The department investigated the Twin Cities school last year, and the school said it had taken corrective actions in response to concerns about the practicing of religion on campus. TIZA said in a written statement on Wednesday that the school is nonsectarian and in compliance with federal and state regulations.<\/p>\n<p>But the ACLU claims the school is using federal and state money to promote religion in violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The moral of the story?\u00a0 Katherine Kersten is, all by herself, a better, smarter journalist than every bought-off Soros-pet &#8220;reporter&#8221; in the Twin Cities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember when Katherine Kersten wrote about some perceived irregularities at Tariq Ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), an Islamocentric charter school in the southeast &#8216;burbs of Saint Paul?
