(SCENE:\u00a0 Mitch BERG climbs out of his car and fishes a big gym bag full of firearms and ammo out of the back seat.\u00a0 He walks toward the front door of the firing range – and notices Avery LIBRELLE, walking, alone, with a picket sign.\u00a0 The sign says “A Millian Americans Are Picketting This Gun Rang”.\u00a0 BERG hides his face, and tries to time his approach while LIBRELLE is walking the other way – but a piece of shiny tinfoil attracts LIBRELLE’s attention back toward BERG).<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 Hey, Merg!<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 Oh…uh, hi, Avery. What’s new?<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 I think MoveOn.Org has the right idea!\u00a0 It’s time to start arresting teabaggers for sedition<\/a>!<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 Sedition?<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0Speaking out against the government!<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0I know what sedition is.\u00a0That’s not what the House Republicans or Cruz or Paul did.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE: The “Affordable Care Act” is the law!\u00a0 And the law is the manifestation of government!\u00a0\u00a0 And if you oppose The Law, you oppose Government, meaning you oppose the will of The People!<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 Well, no.\u00a0 The GOP majority in the House carried out the House’s Constitutional\u00a0duty to take care of the nation’s purse-strings – a job for which the voters of this country gave them the majority at the polls in 2010 and 2012.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 Yeah, but the people also elected President Obama twice.\u00a0He is the government, and his laws are the laws of the land, the revealed word of the people!<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 The President is not “the government”.\u00a0 The government is the executive branch – the President and his staff and the rest of the bureaucracy – the Legislative branch, and the judicial branch, and <\/em>– don’t forget this – all of the checks and balances in between all of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0Well, the “Affordable Care Act” is now the law.<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 So?\u00a0 The First Amendment says we have the right to free speech, to assemble, and to petition to seek redress of grievances.\u00a0 Which is, in every particular, what the Tea Party is and always has been.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 What are you, a constitutional scholar?\u00a0 I’m pretty sure those are all collective rights, just like the Second Amendment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 What now?<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 Anyway – Obamacare is the law, which means it’s the will of the people, and the government IS the people, so fighting the law is fighting the people.\u00a0 “Sedition” is probably the nicest word for it.<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 Again – what now?<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 I’d call it “Treason”.<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 “Treason?”\u00a0 Actively betraying your country to an enemy in wartime?<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 This country’s been at war against poverty since the sixties.\u00a0 Obamacare fights poverty.\u00a0 Undercutting the people in the War on Poverty IS betraying your country in wartime.\u00a0 That’s the very definition of treason!\u00a0 We should sic the military on all of you!<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 Huh.\u00a0 The military.\u00a0\u00a0 (Takes stick of gum from pocket, unwraps it, pops gum in mouth).<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0 Tanks.\u00a0 Choppers.\u00a0 Whatever it takes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 To preserve democracy.<\/p>\n

LIBRELLE:\u00a0\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0<\/p>\n

BERG:\u00a0 Huh.\u00a0<\/p>\n

(BERG drops shiny tinfoil wrapper onto the ground.\u00a0 LIBRELLE chases it, allowing BERG to make his escape).<\/p>\n
