Boehner: \u201cTell you what, Barry, I\u2019ve got a little popularity problem with my own party so here\u2019s what we do:\u00a0 we let the right-wing crazy people shut down the government for couple of weeks, you punish the public by closing the parks and have your buddies in the media savage the Tea Party.\u00a0 Send some of your bureaucrats out to tell everybody the sky is going to fall.\u00a0 Meanwhile, the other senior leadership and I will fumble around not doing much until we can declare that the public pressure is too great and sensible people must step in to restore order and save the day.\u00a0 Then we\u2019ll give you a blank check to kick the can down the road for a few more months and we can all go back to the cocktail parties but without those pesky Tea Party types, who won\u2019t have any clout so they won\u2019t be invited. How\u2019s that sound?\u201d<\/p>\n
