I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ<sup>[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+2:8-14#fen-NIV-24977a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup> the Lord. <span class=\"sup\" id=\"en-NIV-24978\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"sup\" id=\"en-NIV-24978\">This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"sup\" id=\"en-NIV-24979\">Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"sup\" id=\"en-NIV-24980\">&#8220;Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Merry Christmas, all.<\/p>\n<p>Posting will be, obviously, pretty nonexistant today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Luke &#8211; one of history&#8217;s original bloggers, 2,000 years ago (give or take a few): And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
