{"id":38595,"date":"2014-09-25T12:30:29","date_gmt":"2014-09-25T17:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=38595"},"modified":"2014-09-25T09:37:01","modified_gmt":"2014-09-25T14:37:01","slug":"one-hit-wonder-day-2014-pick-some-cool-ones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=38595","title":{"rendered":"One HIt Wonder Day 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today is &#8220;One Hit Wonder&#8221; day.<\/p>\n<p>I thought I&#8217;d honor a few that don&#8217;t get nearly enough attention &#8211; and maybe, just maybe, should have been multi-hit wonders.<\/p>\n<p>Did Donnie Iris ever have another hit after &#8220;Ah Leah?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not sure he needed to:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YH5Arbm47IQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s Honeymoon Suite was one of a thousand five-piece pop-rock bands from the eighties &#8211; Loverboy, Glass Tiger, Survivor, Scandal, Limited Warranty, and on and on.<\/p>\n<p>But &#8220;New Girl Now&#8221; from 1984 was freaking cool song:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uK0AmgDGpPo\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>(And yeah, I know &#8211; &#8220;Feel It Again&#8221; hit the top forty too.  But barely.  I mean, come on).  <\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Canadian bands &#8211; let&#8217;s not forget The Kings (and one of the most atrocious reconstructed videos, for one of the coolest one hit wonders ever&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sxkjvKBPQjo\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some German wave-pop?  1982&#8217;s &#8220;Major Tom&#8221; by Peter Schilling counts:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N1Hs2AQwDgA\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Opposite extreme?
