When I was a kid, one of the best things about the holidays was that Mom would make Chex Party Mix.<\/p>\n
Bear with me, here.<\/p>\n
For whatever reason, Mom made a bunch of batches of CxPM with a lot <\/em>of extra Worcestershire sauce.\u00a0 This extra sauce baked into a hard, salty coating around the Chex, making it extra<\/em> delicious in a way that stuck with me for the past thirty-odd years.<\/p>\n It occurred to me whilst walking through the Worcestershire sauce aisle the other day; “I’m a grownup.\u00a0 I can not only make my own Chex Party Mix – but I can try to re-create Mom’s old recipe.\u00a0 Maybe improve on it!”<\/p>\n So I did.\u00a0 Bought the Chex, the nuts, the pretzels, the garlic salt, and the economy-sized Worcestershire Sauce bottle with the no-splash spout.\u00a0 And I went to work.\u00a0 I added extra Worcestershire sauce.\u00a0 I bumped up the garlic.\u00a0 I let it bake a skosh longer.
