Over this past six weeks of fairly constant writing about Second Amendment issues, it’s occurred to me that I’ve been letting the Orcs drive the discussion by controlling the language involved.<\/p>\n

It’s time to roll that back with extreme prejudice.<\/p>\n

So from now on on this blog and in all personal and public discourse on the matter, the following terms shall be used, with the following meanings:<\/p>\n

Keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and the insane in a meaningful way that results in actual impact on crime<\/td>\n(Media uses no current term)<\/td>\nGun Control<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Restricting the access of law-abiding citizens to firearms<\/td>\n“Gun Control”<\/td>\nVictim Disarmament<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Weapons with collapsible\/folding stocks, large-capacity magazines and bayonet lugs<\/td>\n“Assault Weapons”<\/td>\nUgly guns<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
People who favor restricting the Second Amendment rights of\u00a0law-abiding\u00a0<\/em>Americans<\/td>\n“Gun Safety Advocates”<\/td>\nOrcs<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Heather Martens<\/td>\n“Leader of “Protect Minnesota””<\/td>\nPathologial Liar<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
