{"id":3376,"date":"2008-09-26T12:25:10","date_gmt":"2008-09-26T17:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=3376"},"modified":"2011-09-01T07:43:48","modified_gmt":"2011-09-01T12:43:48","slug":"the-positive-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=3376","title":{"rendered":"The &#8220;Positive&#8221; Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Volunteers and <em>staffers <\/em>for Ashwin Madia &#8211; DFL candidate for the Third Congressional District &#8211; are busted stealing Erik Paulsen signs.<\/p>\n<p>By Michael Brodkorb.\u00a0 Personally.<\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com\/2008\/09\/26\/mde-exclusive-madia-volunteer-busted-stealing-paulsen-for-congress-lawn-signs-high-level-madias-staffer-car-involved-in-incident\/\">has the scoop<\/a>:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Last evening I meet a friend who works for Erik Paulsen\u2019s campaign at the Perkins\u2019 in Maple Grove.\u00a0 I had pulled into the parking lot for Perkins and I was talking with my friend, when we noticed someone walk across the street and take two Paulsen for Congress lawn signs out of the ground from the property across the street from the Perkins.\u00a0 I was stunned &#8211; this woman was stealing Paulsen for Congress lawn signs in front of a staffer for the campaign and a part-time research consultant to the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;When confronted, the woman first claimed she was just <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u201ca private citizen\u2026\u201d<\/span> But after I noticed the car she was driving had a Ashwin Madia for Congress bumper sticker, she admitted that she <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u201calso happened to be a Madia volunteer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to multiple sources who have seen the video,<span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> <\/span>the car driven by the Madia volunteer who took the Paulsen for Congress lawn signs <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">has been identified as being owned by Madia\u2019s communications director Dan Pollock.<\/span> This is the same Dan Pollock who claimed this week that Madia is running a \u201cvery <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">positive<\/span>, issue-oriented campaign\u201d:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u201c\u2018[Team Madia is ] running a very <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">positive<\/span>, issue-oriented campaign,\u2019 Pollock said.\u201d Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mnsun.com\/articles\/2008\/09\/25\/local_news_update\/1afw25congress3quarrel.txt\" target=\"_blank\">Sun Newspapers<\/a>, September 23, 2008<\/p>\n<p>Having your communications director\u2019s car used as a get-a-way vehicle doesn\u2019t help build the case that you\u2019re \u201c\u2026running a very <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">positive<\/span>, issue-oriented campaign.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Or an especially honest one.<\/p>\n<p>If you have to steal your opponents&#8217; signs, what does that say about your campaign?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Madia?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Volunteers and staffers for Ashwin Madia &#8211; DFL candidate for the Third Congressional District &#8211; are busted stealing Erik Paulsen signs.
