People ask me why I oppose the death penalty<\/p>\n

I say “because of the inevitability that we’ll convict and execute an innocent person, which is both morally wrong and absolutely avoidable”.<\/p>\n

The reply is “give me some reasons to believe that could ever happen”.<\/p>\n

And I respond “I’ve got 141 of them<\/a> since they re-legalized the death penalty. \u00a0Including one very recently<\/a>“.<\/p>\n

“But they were never executed! \u00a0The system works!”<\/p>\n

“Well, not for this guy<\/a>. \u00a0They’re down to arguing over which judge has the legal standing to declare him innocent, which is\u00a0\u00a0welfare for lawyers, and is just delaying the inevitable; crap \u00a0science and incompetent, lazy prosecutors killed an innocent man. \u00a0So what do we do about that?”<\/p>\n

“Cut down on frivolous appeals!”<\/p>\n
