You know what they say the difference is between a hockey mom and a pit bull &#8212; lipstick,&#8221; Palin said.<\/p>\n<p>And then she showed us what she means:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In small towns, we don&#8217;t heap praise on working people when they are listening and talk about how bitter they are and they cling to their religions and guns when those people aren&#8217;t listening,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We prefer candidates who don&#8217;t talk to us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Those are the kinds of jabs the Obama campaign will have a difficult time dealing with simply because Palin is a female, and the campaign will not want to appear to be sexist.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No, Mary Mitchell.\u00a0 The Obama campaign will have a difficult time dealing with those jabs because <em>they use Barack Obama&#8217;s own words against him<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Which, I suspect, will soon be called &#8220;racist&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Mitchell at the Chicago Sun-Times makes the by-now ever-more-obligatory nod to the power of Sarah Palin&#8217;s speech last night&#8230; &#8230;but calls it &#8220;mean-spirited&#8221;. &#8220;I love those hockey moms.
