Hope! Et cetera!&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It would appear that, at least until the election, our nation has averted an economic contraction and has actually grown more than predicted. Our 2nd quarter economy grew at an annualized rate of 3.3% instead of sinking towards what seems like a perpetually anticipated recession.<\/p>\n<p>Not that it has been correlated with Bush&#8217;s stimuless check,\u00a0but I may have to eat my words on the futility of the ill-advised tax rebate as the consumer has once again come to the rescue of our GDP.<\/p>\n<p>More substantially though,\u00a0the weak dollar has created a surge in exports.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601087&amp;sid=aBINQXqD0d68&amp;refer=home\">U.S. Stocks Rally as Economic Growth Tops Estimates; Banks Gain<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/investor\/content\/aug2008\/pi20080828_330657.htm?chan=top+news_top+news+index_news+%2B+analysis\">The Economy&#8217;s Upside Surprise<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The timing may bode well\u00a0for McCain and the RNC but all indications are this may very well be an economic dead cat bounce\u00a0as exports rely on the health of other economies which are tenuous at best.<\/p>\n<p>So\u00a0keep\u00a0spending until November please.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obama: &#8220;So I ask you, ladies and gentlemen; fellow Americans, are you better off\u00a0&#8211; &#8220; Aide walks to podium, whispers in his ear &#8220;spssss sps spssss spssss&#8221; &#8220;uh, where was I?&#8221; &#8220;Yes, uh, Change!
