{"id":29961,"date":"2012-08-27T17:30:47","date_gmt":"2012-08-27T22:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=29961"},"modified":"2013-10-02T09:09:07","modified_gmt":"2013-10-02T14:09:07","slug":"attention-common-cause-league-of-women-voters-and-aclu-mn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=29961","title":{"rendered":"Attention Common Cause, League Of Women Voters, and ACLU-MN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To: \u00a0Common Cause, the League of Women Voters, and the ACLU of Minnesota<br \/>\nFrom: Mitch Berg, mere peasant<br \/>\nRe: SCOM Decision<\/p>\n<p>All,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kare11.com\/news\/article\/988591\/391\/Supreme-Court-rejects-ballot-wording-changes-photo-ID-lawsuit\">Suck it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That is all.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The hell it is.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?attachment_id=25707\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-25707\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-25707\" title=\"DFLMinistryofTruthLARGE\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/DFLMinistryofTruthLARGE.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/DFLMinistryofTruthLARGE.png 320w, http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/DFLMinistryofTruthLARGE-300x227.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thus ends the Big-Money DFL Ministry Of Truth&#8217;s bid to stonewall the will of the people. \u00a0Both Constitutional Amendments &#8211; Marriage and Voter ID &#8211; will go to the ballot box this fall.<\/p>\n<p>Voter ID will pass by a 2:1 majority, and if experience from other states holds up, voter turnouts will increase; the only documented (and documentable) &#8220;Vote Suppression&#8221; will be among the Dead-American, Duplicate-American and Nonexistent-American communities.<\/p>\n<p>The Marriage Amendment will be a little tighter race &#8211; but unless the opponents come up with a better argument than &#8220;You are teh bigot&#8221;, and they have not, I think the odds of passage are getting better daily.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?attachment_id=26332\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26332\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26332\" title=\"4575208799_e7c6e34c94\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/4575208799_e7c6e34c94.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m willing to let both of those issues play out in the street where they belong; I&#8217;m a very strong supporter of Voter ID; I support the idea of both traditional &#8220;Marriage&#8221; and civil unions for the non-traditional. There is room for both, I think, although it&#8217;s in neither side&#8217;s interest to acknowledge that.<\/p>\n<p>But the real winners today are the people of Minnesota who spent years, and tons of show leather, fighting for what they believed was right, and getting that agenda pushed into the very brink of law, just like we were all taught in Civics 101 in High School, and\u00a0<em>not\u00a0<\/em>having it all arbitrarily struck down by partisian judicial whim.<\/p>\n<p>Look for the DFL to release a statement decrying &#8220;activist judges&#8221; forthwith.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To: \u00a0Common Cause, the League of Women Voters, and the ACLU of Minnesota From: Mitch Berg, mere peasant Re: SCOM Decision All, Suck it.
