{"id":29823,"date":"2012-08-24T07:35:37","date_gmt":"2012-08-24T12:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=29823"},"modified":"2012-08-31T13:39:14","modified_gmt":"2012-08-31T18:39:14","slug":"idle-hands-part-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=29823","title":{"rendered":"The District, Part V:  Idle Hands, Redux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The other day, we mentioned 4th CD GOP chairman John Kysylyczyn&#8217;s canceling of the only meeting scheduled for the district&#8217;s full committee before the election. \u00a0Under district rules, the full committee is the only body that can authorize the district to donate the second half of the district&#8217;s customary $10,000 donation to its endorsed candidate, Tony Hernandez.<\/p>\n<p>The committee did, in fact, vote last May to donate the first $5,000 installment to Hernandez.<\/p>\n<p>The vote on the donation passed&#8230;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>VC6 Brown : Yea<\/p>\n<p>VC5 Mueller: Yea<\/p>\n<p>VC4 Windsor: Nay<\/p>\n<p>VC3 Taylor: Yea<\/p>\n<p>VC2 Grinols: Yea<\/p>\n<p>VC1 Williams: Yea<\/p>\n<p>State Exec VC Regnier: Yea<\/p>\n<p>Secretary Overlander: Yea<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Chair Boguszewski: Yea<\/p>\n<p>Chair Kysylyczyn: Nay<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So back when the district did, in fact, vote on donating money to Hernandez, Kysylyczyn voted no.<\/p>\n<p>He had a reason, of course:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Chair Kysylyczyn: While I supported the donation of $5000 to the Hernandez campaign, I vote NO on the motion before the committee because I support the idea proposed by Mr. Boguszewski of disbursing funds through a matching funds donation process as he has done in his BPOU for their endorsed candidates. A portion of the funds would be provided up front, and the balance provided on a one to one match with private dollars, up to a $5000 cap. Calculations for the matching funds process would start the day the candidate was endorsed.
