  1. Of television programs that aired before you were born, what\u2019s your favorite? <\/strong>“Victory at Sea”, the NBC miniseries on World War Two.

What person of historical significance was from your neighborhood or city? <\/strong>Colonel William Dupuy was on General MacArthur’s staff, and was with him on the deck of the USS Missouri <\/em>when Japan surrendered.\u00a0 MacArthur gave the colonel the ceremonial flag that the Japanese emissary handed over.\u00a0 I found it in my city’s museum when I volunteered there, back when I was 12 or 13.\u00a0 All the old ladies and my family said “oh, that’s nice, Mitch.\u00a0 Take out the garbage, please”.\u00a0 Then, about ten years ago, it was on the front page of the Jamestown Sun<\/em>; a HUGE DISCOVERY!\u00a0 The VERY FLAG that the Japanese had handed over on the Missouri<\/em>!\u00a0 Anyway; other than Louis LaMoure, Peggy Lee, Shadoe Stevens and Darin Erstad, that’s about it.

  3. What\u2019s a story that\u2019s often been told about someone in your family in the years before you came along? <\/strong>My family wasn’t big on stories.\u00a0 I have very little idea about my parents before I was born.\u00a0 Maybe this story here counts<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. Which of previous generations\u2019 dumb mistakes (in deed or thought) baffles you the most? <\/strong>Slavery?<\/li>\n
  5. What aspect of life in the good old days would you love to see a return to? <\/strong>I think schools should be able, in cases of gross misbehavior, to paddle the crap out of kids.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n
