{"id":2682,"date":"2008-06-12T12:02:01","date_gmt":"2008-06-12T17:02:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=2682"},"modified":"2008-06-12T09:11:12","modified_gmt":"2008-06-12T14:11:12","slug":"tweet-this","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=2682","title":{"rendered":"Tweet This"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I work in the software business.\u00a0 I end up having to stay current on a <em>lot <\/em>of trends in software.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So, it seems, to people in the news business, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/minnesota.publicradio.org\/collections\/special\/columns\/loophole\/archive\/2008\/06\/life_on_the_tweet_beat.shtml\">the folks at MPR&#8217;s &#8220;In The Loop&#8221;<\/a>, who are apparently all atwitter about&#8230;er, Twitter:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Now, given my very limited experience with Twitter, I&#8217;d count myself in that latter category. But from what I do know, the program is no savior. What really impresses me though, has nothing to do with &#8220;tweeting&#8221; at all . . . it&#8217;s that in a newsroom, where for a long time people have played it safe, measured all the risks before making a move . . . these folks were now congratulating us for trying a chaotic experiment with uncertain results. That&#8217;s a big deal.<\/p>\n<p>In the media business right now, no one really knows what web application or social networking trend will be the one to bring us into the digital future.
