Wow, legalize murder; that sounds bad. I wonder what \u201clegalize murder\u201d means?<\/p>\n
Murder \u2013 now, are we talking about plotting and lying in wait to kill someone in cold blood, as Chief Kolb suggested? Mob hits? Gang banging? Because I don\u2019t see the proposed law legalizing those sorts of murders at all.<\/p>\n
Or are we using \u201cmurder\u201d in the broader sense of \u201cto end a human life?\u201d Because if that\u2019s the case, we already have legalized murder and we\u2019re glad we do.<\/p>\n
The Navy SEALS who got Osama Bin Laden ended a human life. The Golden Valley police officer who shot the crazy woman on 394 last Fall, ended a human life. The Good Samaritan who shot the purse snatcher in Minneapolis, ended a human life. The United States has capital punishment for treason, which ends a human life. And don\u2019t even get me started on abortion. Is Mark Dayton suggesting the people who end those lives are murderers? Of course not. Ending those human lives is just fine with him.<\/p>\n
\u201cLegalizing murder\u201d doesn\u2019t mean what you think it does. It\u2019s just a scary phrase to trick you into believing the proposed law is a bad thing. Trickery. Deceit. That\u2019s the DFL playbook.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
And, this year more than most, it’s all they have.<\/p>\n
And I’m still waiting for the mainstream media to FACT CHECK the idiot politicians and lobbyists – Heather Martens, Dave Kolb, Jim Backstrom, Mark Dayton – who trafficked in the phrase.,<\/p>\n
