Franken&#8217;s issue is his own dumbassness.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com\/2008\/05\/15\/brutal-larry-jacobs-and-david-schultz-unload-on-team-franken-jacobs-suggests-putting-handcuffs-and-a-gag-on-franken\/\">Brodkorb<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hamline political science professor David Schultz is hardly more kind in assessing the state of the Franken campaign. <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u2018Is this the classic putting lipstick on a pig?\u2019<\/span> he asks. <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u2018Does Franken have fundamentally bigger problems that changing campaign managers won\u2019t solve?\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Schultz is struck by the static nature of the polls in recent weeks. \u2018Unless the Franken campaign can get a bunch of people to rethink Coleman and therefore rethink Franken <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">the race is over<\/span>.\u2019\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And finally, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnpost.com\/politicalagenda\/2008\/05\/15\/1879\/franken_gears_up_with_hiring_of_campaign_manager#69-1879\">Doug Grow<\/a> &#8211; for non-Twin-Citians, that means &#8220;the most in-the-bag member of the in-the-bagosphere&#8221;.  I add emphasis:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"richtext\">The Franken for Senate campaign became a little more traditional today with the announcement that Stephanie Schriock will become campaign manager in early June. To date, Franken&#8217;s campaign has not had a single person with the title of campaign manager<strong>&#8230;Franken campaign officials say the hiring of Schriock doesn&#8217;t signal any major changes in the organization but is a traditional step<\/strong> in  preparing for the race against incumbent Norm Coleman. The hiring apparently assumes that Franken will win endorsement at the DFL convention, which is to be held June 6-8. \u2014 Doug Grow<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"richtext\">&#8220;Nothing wrong here, folks.  Pay no attention to the elephant behind the curtain&#8221;.Grow was a columnist for the <em>Strib <\/em>&#8211; and, next to Lori Sturdevant, the most reliable DFL flak in the state &#8211; since the end of the Civil War.Hard to believe they&#8217;re covering the same story.
