I’ve been tangling with Karl Bremer for a long, long time. \u00a0Like,since long before any of us had ever heard of blogs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, if this blog has had one iron clad standard, it’s that politics comes in behind humanity. This hobby – an offshoot of people doing what they believe – is frequently a stewing noxious morass of Alinski-ite ugliness. And so I never go after peoples’ jobs, their family lives, or, especially, parts of their pasts that aren’t germane to their political job. \u00a0Wherever else I may have fallen short, I’ve stuck to that. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And beyond that? \u00a0Peoples’ lives are more important than their politics. <\/span><\/p>\n

So it was a genuine gut-shot to <\/span>read this last night<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Three weeks ago, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Tomorrow I start chemotherapy to try to destroy it. I\u2019ve fought a lot of battles in my life and beaten some long odds. None of them have ever been life-threatening, though, so at this point, they all seem rather inconsequential.This one\u2019s for real, and I\u2019m going to need all the energy I can muster to beat it. Consequently, you may see a little reduction in flow here at Ripple in Stillwater. I\u2019ll be recycling some old material to keep you entertained in the meantime<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
