Almost."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last year, I biked to work most of the summer.\u00a0 It was a great thing; it had an almost immediate and very dramatic effect on my health &#8211; mental and physical &#8211; and generally improved my attitude about most things.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, by &#8220;Summer&#8221;, I mean &#8220;from about June 15 to mid-September.\u00a0 The kids&#8217; school situations made it difficult to ride during the school year.\u00a0 Last year, anyway.<\/p>\n<p>This year, one way or another, things are shaping up much better; due to changes in kids&#8217; schedules and levels of responsibility, I can reasonably expect to be able to hit the road for my half-hour ride early enough to make it in by 8:30, grab a quick shower, and be working in plenty of time.<\/p>\n<p>And since this week is the kids&#8217; spring break, I figured in a fit of optimism that I mght be able to kick the season off this week.<\/p>\n<p>But while I do know people who ride year-round, and might try it myself when the kids move out (<strike>in about three years, two months and fifteen days<\/strike>), I gotta confess &#8211; waking up and flipping on the weather on April 3 and seeing <em>25 degrees<\/em> is a bit of a deterrent.<\/p>\n<p>Ooof.\u00a0 Maybe next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last year, I biked to work most of the summer.\u00a0 It was a great thing; it had an almost immediate and very dramatic effect on my health &#8211; mental and physical &#8211; and generally improved my attitude about most things.
