{"id":232,"date":"2006-12-21T04:07:09","date_gmt":"2006-12-21T10:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shotinthedark.info\/wp\/index.php\/2006\/12\/21\/willy-who\/"},"modified":"2006-12-20T16:30:01","modified_gmt":"2006-12-20T22:30:01","slug":"willy-who","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=232","title":{"rendered":"Willy Who?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Like <em>every <\/em>Twin Citian under the age of 70, I wasn&#8217;t listening to Willy Clark yesterday morning.\u00a0 In fact, like an awful lot of Twin Cities radio listeners, I haven&#8217;t listened to KSTP since Mischke moved to the middle of the working day and Bob Davis moved to late mornings.\u00a0 As in, not at all.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nada.\u00a0 Zip.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Seriously.\u00a0 KSTP-AM is my radio alma mater, and I haven&#8217;t hit its preset on my car radio since Rush Limbaugh changed stations.\u00a0 Not once.<\/p>\n<p>But I digress.\u00a0 A little bird told me that Willy Clark was talking about me yesterday.\u00a0 To be fair, I needed that little bird, because I didn&#8217;t know Willy Clark was even still on the air (and, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/archives\/006879.html\">looking back<\/a>, I see that we&#8217;ve gotta be up to about contract time here&#8230;).\u00a0 Anyway, he wasn&#8217;t happy:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A mention of SITD came up around the 8:30 mark.\u00a0 Kenny Olson was Googling reviews of the show, they came across yours (Kenny read his description, something about a smug, talentless punk) and Willy characterized the guy that wrote that as an unemployed loser who can&#8217;t get hired in radio, or something like that. \u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh, my.\u00a0 Aren&#8217;t we <em>feisty<\/em>?\u00a0 Wouldn&#8217;t Willy Clark be much more &#8211; I dunno, <em>listenable <\/em>if he took some of that <em>feistiness<\/em> and used it to sound like he <em>wasn&#8217;t <\/em>on NyQuil on the air?<\/p>\n<p>Willy Clark:\u00a0 I am employed; very well-employed, as it happens (details <em>never <\/em>shared online).\u00a0 As to being a loser &#8211; well, I&#8217;m no &#8220;morning guy at KSTP&#8221;, but I do OK.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But the ultimate question, Wills, is not &#8220;can Mitch get hired in radio&#8221;; I did in the past, and I have the best unpaid gig in the business right now.\u00a0 But I don&#8217;t <em>work <\/em>in radio anymore.\u00a0 Other challenges called &#8211;
