{"id":23080,"date":"2011-09-23T08:14:16","date_gmt":"2011-09-23T13:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=23080"},"modified":"2011-09-23T08:14:16","modified_gmt":"2011-09-23T13:14:16","slug":"whats-missing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=23080","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Missing?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was talking with another Second Amendment activist last night about<a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/local\/west\/130368623.html\">\u00a0the story behind yesterday afternoon&#8217;s shooting on I-394<\/a>\u00a0or, rather, what was missing from it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Police said the officer had tried to stop the woman, who eventually pulled over along the median shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday on westbound Interstate 394 in Minnetonka.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The lone occupant of the vehicle, an adult female, was in possession of a handgun and was subsequently fatally shot by the officer,&#8221; according to a statement from Golden Valley police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Was in possession of a handgun?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>OK &#8211; and what did she do with it?<\/p>\n<p>The observation is that usually in these types of shootings &#8211; dead civilian, unhurt cop &#8211; if there are details that explain the cop&#8217;s actions, like &#8220;she picked up the gun, racked a round, yelled &#8220;I&#8217;m gonna kill you, copper&#8221; and pointed it at the officer&#8221;, those are <em>all over <\/em>the media.<\/p>\n<p>And yet&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Hennepin County Sheriff&#8217;s Office is investigating and declined Thursday night to release any additional details, including who the woman was, what led to the traffic stop and shooting, and whether she fired at the officer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This will be interesting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was talking with another Second Amendment activist last night about\u00a0the story behind yesterday afternoon&#8217;s shooting on I-394\u00a0or, rather, what was missing from it.
