Not as opponents, necessarily (although there is much to criticize in art &#8211; both in specific pieces of it, songs and paintings and plays and what-not, but the way art is practiced in our society, especially the big, grant-driven institutional &#8220;arts&#8221; organizations) and consumers, but as participants.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;ll stand by that.<\/p>\n<p><strike>That said, I believe a strike force from &#8220;Complete Rejection of Asinine Performance-art&#8221; (CRAP), with tear gas and attack dogs, would have been better and more appropriate in responding to <\/strike><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maniacworld.com\/frozen-in-grand-central-station.html\"><strike>this bit here<\/strike><\/a><strike>.<\/strike><\/p>\n<p><strike>&#8220;ooh, look &#8211; a cynical critique of the hustle and bustle of the hopeless bourgeois life. We, the artists, who exist an a more noble plane, will silently mock their exertions, then scamper, giggling, away, wrapped in our smug sense of superiority&#8221;.<\/strike><\/p>\n<p>OK, maybe this bit caught me in a bad mood. It happens.<\/p>\n<p>Discuss amongst yourselves &#8211; the only ground rule is that nobody may use the term &#8220;Neo-Con&#8221; even once.<\/p>\n<p>But don&#8217;t get me started on that vacuous publicity-monger Spencer Tunick.
