A few weeks ago, when the Legislature overrode Governor Pawlenty’s veto of the Brad Carlson noticed something I missed<\/a><\/p>\n see, according to Democrats, a GOP member is to receive much adulation for \u201cdoing the right thing\u201d by \u201cvoting their conscience.\u201d However, Rep. Mary Ellen Otremba (D-Long Prairie)<\/font><\/a> was not afforded<\/font><\/a> that same courtesy by her seemingly lovestruck party. Did you notice Rep. Otremba didn\u2019t dare uphold her initial \u201cno\u201d vote on the bill? Had she and John Lesch (D-St Paul)<\/font><\/a> maintained their respective \u201cno\u201d votes when it came to the veto override, then the Governor\u2019s action would have been upheld, resulting in killing the bill.
