{"id":21710,"date":"2011-08-12T12:00:41","date_gmt":"2011-08-12T17:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=21710"},"modified":"2011-08-12T11:23:34","modified_gmt":"2011-08-12T16:23:34","slug":"one-more-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=21710","title":{"rendered":"One More Year!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Let me be clear about this: I believe that Barack Obama will win four more years. \u00a0Indeed, I believe the electoral landscape is shaping up such that if he wins with less than 55% of the vote &#8211; he&#8217;s an incumbent running before a fawning media and a hysterical following, for crying out loud &#8211; and the Dems don&#8217;t take two seats in the Senate and retake the House completely, they should consider it a crushing loss for the party as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Still, <a href=\"http:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/2011\/08\/12\/uk-usa-economy-idUKTRE77B36G20110812\">there are signs<\/a> all is not well for front-runner and favorite Obama:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>U.S. consumer sentiment worsened sharply in early August, falling to the lowest index level since 1980, even though retail sales posted the biggest gains in three months in July, separate reports on Friday showed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>1980? \u00a0Why, I remember that. \u00a0That was the golden age of Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale!
