{"id":21669,"date":"2011-08-09T10:00:23","date_gmt":"2011-08-09T15:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=21669"},"modified":"2011-08-09T07:18:04","modified_gmt":"2011-08-09T12:18:04","slug":"theyre-all-queens-of-rage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=21669","title":{"rendered":"They&#8217;re <i>All<\/i> Queens Of Rage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Rifle Association has come out defending Michele Bachmann against Newsweek Magazine&#8217;s scabrous &#8220;Queen of Rage&#8221; cover piece on Michele Bachmann:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>One of presidential candidate Michele Bachmann\u2019s major political opponents is defending her against what it says is blatant sexism on the part of Newsweek magazine.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wait &#8211; did I say National Rifle Association?<\/p>\n<p>Ooop. \u00a0I meant&#8230;the <a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2011\/08\/08\/the-national-organization-for-women-defends-bachmann-against-newsweek\/\">National Organization of Women<\/a>!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Monday, the National Organization for Women (NOW) spoke out against Newsweek\u2019s most recent cover, which features an extreme close-up of Michele Bachmann and the title \u201cThe Queen of Rage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s sexist,\u201d NOW president Terry O\u2019Neill told TheDC. \u201cCasting her in that expression and then adding \u2018The Queen of Rage\u2019 I think [it is]. Gloria Steinem has a very simple test: If this were done to a man or would it ever be done to a man \u2013 has it ever been done to a man? Surely this has never been done to a man.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The NOW, of course, is myopic; it happens to (conservative) men in the liberal media all the time.<\/p>\n<p>Still &#8211; when even NOW notices that the liberal media observes a toxic double standard when covering women who happen to be conservatives, that should tell you something.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, if you&#8217;re award-winning journalist \u00ae\u00a0Karl Bremer, <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/KDBremer\/status\/100900053186641920\">what it tells <\/a>you is that them uppity wimmins is gettin&#8217; off the reservation agin:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Gender politics at its worst&#8211;NOW defends Michele Bachmann over Newsweek cover.
