{"id":20882,"date":"2011-07-04T05:00:40","date_gmt":"2011-07-04T11:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=20882"},"modified":"2011-07-03T09:43:50","modified_gmt":"2011-07-03T15:43:50","slug":"at-long-last-the-mob-day-at-the-range","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=20882","title":{"rendered":"At Long Last:  The MOB Day At The Range"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve been talking about this for seven years.<\/p>\n<p>The time has come.<\/p>\n<p>The Minnesota Organization of Bloggers &#8220;Day At The Range&#8221; will be held&#8230;in the <em>very <\/em>near future.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the deal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ll be renting a <em>bay <\/em>of lanes &#8211; probably 5-6 stations on a firing line &#8211; at a local gun range. \u00a0We&#8217;ll have &#8217;em rented for four hours.<\/li>\n<li>The event will be on a weeknight &#8211; because ranges are much cheaper to rent on weeknights. \u00a0 \u00a0This is important because of the next point.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;ll be a benefit &#8211; details coming soon. \u00a0Admission will likely be in the $20 range, with proceed going to the benefit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now, here&#8217;s where MOBsters come in; we need a couple of numbers<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How many people can make it to a gun range in, let&#8217;s say, the south suburbs, on a weeknight &#8211; say, Wednesday or Thursday.<\/li>\n<li>How many people can bring some sort of firearm (OK, handgun)<\/li>\n<li>How many would be willing to share with people who don&#8217;t have their own, or who want to try out otoher firearms? \u00a0(You&#8217;ll be on your own for the arrangements for ammo; I&#8217;d suggest pro-rating your ammo cost per magazine, or 5-6 shots for revolvers, and taking &#8220;suggested donations&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We don&#8217;t have a firm date <em>right <\/em>now, but we will very shortly.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8211; if you fit any or all of the categories above, please either leave a comment, or (if you prefer privacy) drop me a line at &#8220;feedbackinthedark&#8221;, which is a yahoo dot com address.<\/p>\n<p>This will be happening in the <em>very <\/em>near future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve been talking about this for seven years.
