It was Monday, November 7, 1988.<\/p>\n
I came back<\/a> from New York<\/a> feeling pretty upbeat.\u00a0<\/p>\n And even if <\/em>the stuff in NYC<\/a> didn’t pan out, I had other irons in the fire<\/a>, and of course my band was happening again<\/a>.\u00a0 Some of the things that made me me<\/em> were starting, it seemed, to work out again.<\/p>\n Either way, it looked as if I’d be able to bid the whole miserable situation goodbye soon.<\/p>\n I was right, although I didn’t know exactly how <\/em>right I was, or why.<\/p>\n Wyatt was already a month behind on his bills – rent, power, phone, the works.\u00a0 Shane and I were both getting tired of carrying him.<\/p>\n It was about 10AM, and I was heading out to go downtown when Wyatt came downstairs.<\/p>\n “Hey”, he said in his fake Arklahoma accent, “I got a plan to get the bills caught up”<\/p>\n “Ah.\u00a0 Cool”, I responded.\u00a0 It wouldn’t have been the first “plan”.
