{"id":19465,"date":"2011-04-20T07:09:46","date_gmt":"2011-04-20T13:09:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=19465"},"modified":"2011-04-20T07:09:46","modified_gmt":"2011-04-20T13:09:46","slug":"scenes-from-the-american-greece","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=19465","title":{"rendered":"Scenes From The American Greece"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>McDonalds&#8217; hiring spree yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/2011\/04\/20\/3565127\/mcdonalds-restaurants-overwhelmed.html\">had many, many thousands of takers<\/a>. \u00a0Mac&#8217;s planned to hire 50,000 people yesterday:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>McDonald&#8217;s didn&#8217;t have a complete count on how many applicants showed up Tuesday, but so many arrived on some local McDonald&#8217;s doorsteps that restaurant owners were nearly overwhelmed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At one point, we had 120 people outside the door, but we were able to get all 120 interviewed,&#8221; said Courtney Ristuben at her Citrus Heights location on Sunrise Boulevard and Old Auburn Road [in Sacramento, California].<\/p>\n<p>Halfway through her four-hour afternoon hiring session, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Ristuben and her team had seen 300 job seekers.
