{"id":19203,"date":"2011-04-06T05:00:26","date_gmt":"2011-04-06T11:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=19203"},"modified":"2011-04-06T06:03:30","modified_gmt":"2011-04-06T12:03:30","slug":"here-we-go-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=19203","title":{"rendered":"Here We Go Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bad News: \u00a0The Wisconsin Supreme Court race\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/news\/statepolitics\/119308059.html\">is very, very close, and may \u00a0be headed for a recount<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But conservative candidate David Prosser is currently leading extremist whackdoodle liberal JoAnne Kloppenberg by a razor-thin margin&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;that might be headed for a recount, and thence to lawsuits with all sorts of union-paid lawyers that wind up in front of the very court for whom the elections are being held. Which is deadlocked.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But even with 99% of the vote counted, fewer than 600 votes &#8211; about 0.04% of ballots &#8211; separated the candidates. And The Associated Press said early Wednesday that the race was too close to call and that it would take hours or most of the day to get a final tally.<\/p>\n<p>That close margin had political insiders from both sides talking about the possibility of a recount, which Wisconsin has avoided in statewide races in recent decades. Any recount could be followed by lawsuits &#8211; litigation that potentially would be decided by the high court.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The good news? \u00a0The election &#8211; held as Wisconsin is still up in arms (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/news\/statepolitics\/119037014.html\">almost literally<\/a>) over the collective bargaining squabble &#8211; shows on a statewide level that the Dems&#8217; much-ballyhooed recall effort is likely, for the most part, to squib.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bad News: \u00a0The Wisconsin Supreme Court race\u00a0is very, very close, and may \u00a0be headed for a recount.
