Well, surely the Dems do <\/em>know there’s something there; they’re phrasing that something as “we never <\/em>doubted the US military’s ability to pull this off.<\/p>\n Except, as Jeff Kouba catalogues, they surely did<\/a>:<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the intrepid Susan Lenfestey on how she of course duh!<\/em> never doubted<\/font><\/a> The Surge would work:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Fair enough. We\u2019re all exhausted from the divisiveness of this war, so in the holiday spirit \u2014 and with my fingers crossed \u2014 I\u2019ll take a break from the rancor and say what he wants to hear: The Surge is Working.<\/p>\n But the doubt was never about the prowess and might of the American military, or that adding more troops would offer short-term security. …<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The doubt was never about the prowess and might of the American military?<\/p>\n *bemused, a puzzled look tugs at his brow*<\/em><\/p>\n In the 12\/3 issue of the The Weekly Standard<\/em>, Noemie Emery did a tremendous job<\/font><\/a> of logging the many statements made by Lefties concerned their solid belief in the inevitable success of The Surge.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Jeff pulls out\u00a0a number of examples\u00a0showing that,\u00a0on the\u00a0hard (and not-so-hard) left, there most definitely\u00a0were <\/em>doubts!\u00a0<\/p>\n Now, correct me if I\u2019m wrong, but aren\u2019t all those examples at least a vague, nebulous indication that perhaps our patriotic Democratic Left harbored at least a few, secretly held, never voiced in public niggling doubts about The Surge?\n
