{"id":1717,"date":"2007-11-29T08:26:13","date_gmt":"2007-11-29T13:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=1717"},"modified":"2011-11-21T11:49:35","modified_gmt":"2011-11-21T17:49:35","slug":"pr0n-industry-temp-sez-rules-are-for-peasants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=1717","title":{"rendered":"Pr0n Industry Temp sez: &#8220;Rules Are For Peasants&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As you&#8217;re no doubt well aware, <em>True North <\/em>&#8211; my other blog &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.looktruenorth.com\/index.php?option=com_content&#038;view=article&#038;id=1122:first-amendment-doesnt-apply-for-seventh&#038;catid=95:Contributor&#038;Itemid=88\">deleted<\/a> a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=1713\">contributor<\/a>\u00a0yesterday for plagiarism.<\/p>\n<p><em>True North <\/em>took immediate action.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=1030\">Unlike other local blogs<\/a> with printed codes of ethics, we actually acted&#8230;ethically, when <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=987\">an ethical infraction surfaced<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the usual lefty suspects jump<a href=\"http:\/\/lloydletta.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/former-republican-congressional.html\">ed up and down like poo-flinging howler monkeys<\/a>, of course (ironically, of course, in Eva Young&#8217;s case, given her habit of copying and pasting entire comment threads).<\/p>\n<p>But dig a little further; the post that Eva links to in the post above is&#8230;well, still more irony.<\/p>\n<p>Joe &#8220;Learned Foot&#8221; Tucci from KAR also noticed, and <a href=\"http:\/\/koolaidreport.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/ken-weiner-stalker-sleaze-merchant.html\">dug a little further<\/a>; it&#8217;d seem former pr0n industry temp worker and Eva&#8217;s pal\u00a0and fellow obsessive <strike>blogger<\/strike> copy-and-paster Ken &#8220;Avidor&#8221; Weiner is on ethically ironic ground in commenting on the Seventh Son (emphasis added):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Weiner stole some pics from our good friend Ben&#8217;s blog. Ben, in a comment section (the cowardly Weiner supplies no email address), politely asked Weiner to take the pictures down. <strong>Weiner, displaying the class he become known for, deleted Ben&#8217;s comments<\/strong>, restricted <a href=\"http:\/\/minnesotamobstersexposed.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/new-comment-policy.html\"><font color=\"#334477\">outsiders from commenting<\/font><\/a>, and promised to keep stealing the intellectual property of others.<\/p>\n<p>Coward.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Do these people actually <em>have <\/em>ethics?\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You can read Ben&#8217;s post about this <a href=\"http:\/\/hammerswing75.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/treating-others-with-respect.html\"><font color=\"#334477\">here<\/font><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What makes Avidor-Weiner&#8217;s actions especially laughable, is that immediately above the first post containing stolen material flagged by Ben, is a post ripping on a plagiarism flap at True North (captured in beautiful haiku <a href=\"http:\/\/koolaidreport.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/news-in-haikus_28.html\"><font color=\"#334477\">here<\/font><\/a>).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0Yet another &#8220;prominent&#8221; leftyblogger (or at least one who is cited with breathless credulity by the local Sorosphere) is caught with his ethical pants down.\u00a0 So what will their side do about it?<\/p>\n<p>Will <strike>Blogger<\/strike> Copy-and-Paster Young continue to breathlessly support Ken &#8220;Avidor&#8221; Weiner, thief and coward?<\/p>\n<p>Tucci notes that the &#8220;rules&#8221; have morphed a bit&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With the explosion of online publishing, things are now a little bit different. Instead of the old way of asking permission before using someone else&#8217;s property, now it&#8217;s pretty much the norm to take first and ask for forgiveness later. I think that&#8217;s a fair trade off and efficient way of doing things.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8230;and the problem we face:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I don&#8217;t think anyone with an iota of class or integrity would refuse to take down a picture posted on his or her blog if the owner of that picture asked. In fact I have obliged such a complaint in the past. It&#8217;s called class. It&#8217;s called respecting the rights and the property of others.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve honored such requests as well.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s that &#8220;class&#8221; and &#8220;integrity&#8221; bit.\u00a0 Or at least &#8220;not being a juvenile&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strike>Blogger<\/strike> Copy-and-Paster Young also snivels:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Normally blogs link to posts so people can go view them for themselves. Berg does that sometimes, when he cites a post from Lloydletta or Dump Bachmann.
