And, it notes, those e-mails contradict what Thomas Perez, assistant attorney general for Justice&#8217;s Civil Rights Division, told the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights under oath: that decision involved &#8220;only career people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The e-mails lend additional credence to the long-held suspicion that politics drove Justice&#8217;s decision-making in this case.
