{"id":14273,"date":"2010-10-12T06:50:47","date_gmt":"2010-10-12T11:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=14273"},"modified":"2014-10-02T10:19:39","modified_gmt":"2014-10-02T15:19:39","slug":"chanting-points-memo-daytons-dash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=14273","title":{"rendered":"Chanting Points Memo: Dayton&#8217;s Dash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With my years of blogging experience and keen blogging instincts, I&#8217;ve learned a thing or two.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4017\/4575208799_e7c6e34c94.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"192\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Maybe three.<\/p>\n<p>One of them is &#8220;when you see a bunch of DFL-linked leftybloggers start ridiculing something in the kind of unison that&#8217;d impress a synchonized swimming team, you know there&#8217;s something they&#8217;re trying to get people to ignore.<\/p>\n<p>This is the piece of the video they&#8217;re hooting and hollering about:<\/p>\n<p><object style=\"width: 400px; height: 244px;\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"400\" height=\"244\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/1apEpOR8IyQ&amp;hl=en_US&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;version=3\" \/><embed style=\"width: 400px; height: 244px;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"400\" height=\"244\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/1apEpOR8IyQ&amp;hl=en_US&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;version=3\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s after a gubernatorial debate yesterday during which Dayton had taken questions about his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mngop.com\/pdfs\/hansonvdayton.pdf\">settlement with Brad Hanson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, he didn&#8217;t necessarily <em>answer <\/em>the questions; even Pat Kessler notes the paucity of detail:<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"400\" height=\"325\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/16D969BHOsU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"400\" height=\"325\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/16D969BHOsU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/embed><\/object><br \/>\nDayton &#8211; the candidate of the party of &#8220;champions of the working fella&#8221; &#8211; had to settle with a former staffer after appealing his wrongful termination case all the way to the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>So what is he running from?<\/p>\n<p>What about the case is so nasty that Dayton can&#8217;t even <em>talk <\/em>about it with reporters?<\/p>\n<p>And &#8211; Kessler&#8217;s observations aside &#8211; when is the media going to seriously question him?<\/p>\n<p>After all, the &#8220;malpractice&#8221; suit against Emmer &#8211; likely as not just a money grab that uses the election for leverage &#8211; got slavering coverage from the regional media.\u00a0 It was the most important story there <em>was.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And yet we have a gubernatorial candidate who uses his boundless wealth to drag a suit through the courts and&#8230;almost nothing?<\/p>\n<p>Kudos to Kessler and WCCO for running it.<\/p>\n<p>Who&#8217;ll follow up?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With my years of blogging experience and keen blogging instincts, I&#8217;ve learned a thing or two.
