{"id":12313,"date":"2010-07-29T07:45:57","date_gmt":"2010-07-29T12:45:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=12313"},"modified":"2010-07-29T07:45:57","modified_gmt":"2010-07-29T12:45:57","slug":"offense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=12313","title":{"rendered":"Offense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was thinking about the DFL&#8217;s engineered flap over the donations Target, Best Buy, Red Wing Shoes, Davisco, Polaris and Hubbard Broadcasting made to MNForward, a pro-Emmer PAC that&#8217;s had the temerity to run advertising on Emmer&#8217;s behalf.<\/p>\n<p>I found the word I&#8217;m looking for: \u00a0Offensive.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know what offends me more, though. \u00a0Is it that the DFL&#8230;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8230; is (news flash) lying (as usual)? \u00a0Emmer is not &#8220;anti-gay&#8221;; that&#8217;s just your standard Alinski 101 framing?<\/li>\n<li>&#8230; is trying so hard to manufacture outrage over corporate donations while they take <em>millions a year <\/em>from outrage-proof institutions &#8211; unions and plutocrats?<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;that they think so many Minnesotans are so stupid that they&#8217;d buy it?<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;that, in over 50% of the cases (especially in the metro) they&#8217;ll be right?<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;that our &#8220;elite&#8221; media is eating this crap up for <em>exactly <\/em>the reason they were intended to eat it up; because the DFL has nothing else to talk about.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As re that last one? \u00a0That may be the worst. \u00a0The DFL really <em>doesn&#8217;t <\/em>have anything in the idea department. \u00a0I&#8217;ll prove it, and you can too: \u00a0ask any DFLer for a positive idea; watch them respond &#8220;I&#8217;m POSITIVE I hate Target!&#8221;, or something to that effect.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s good news for November, of course &#8211; but in the short term, it&#8217;s killing my blood pressure, and in the long term having to share a society with people like this can&#8217;t be good for a nation.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps there&#8217;s a T-shirt idea for the GOP; &#8220;The DFL: \u00a0The party that thinks you&#8217;re a not-to0-bright drama queen&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe we can hand &#8217;em out at the fair.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was thinking about the DFL&#8217;s engineered flap over the donations Target, Best Buy, Red Wing Shoes, Davisco, Polaris and Hubbard Broadcasting made to MNForward, a pro-Emmer PAC that&#8217;s had the temerity to run advertising on Emmer&#8217;s behalf.
