{"id":12189,"date":"2010-07-21T08:34:32","date_gmt":"2010-07-21T13:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=12189"},"modified":"2010-07-21T08:34:32","modified_gmt":"2010-07-21T13:34:32","slug":"just-plain-sick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=12189","title":{"rendered":"Just Plain Sick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re a conservative, especially in a liberal gulag like the Twin Cities, you don&#8217;t need to be reminded that&#8230;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>all too many liberals don&#8217;t just disagree with conservatives; they actively, passionately <em>hate <\/em>them (in a manner that most conservatives, no, do not reciprocate)<\/li>\n<li>The mainstream media are biased against conservatives and conservatism in a way that is way too systematic to be either random or a matter of a few journalists and their individual worldviews.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As such, the most interesting question to come out of the &#8220;Journolist&#8221; flap isn&#8217;t so much <em>how biased are the media<\/em> as it is <em>how many more &#8220;Journolists&#8221; are there<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>Given the absolute lock-step uniformity among most of the Twin Cities media when it comes to politics, I&#8217;d be personally amazed if there weren&#8217;t some form of back-channel collusion going on.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, yeah &#8211; and many of \u00a0our &#8220;elite&#8221; media\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2010\/07\/21\/liberal-journalists-suggest-government-shut-down-fox-news\/\">are a bunch of sick bastards<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If you were in the presence of a man having a heart attack, how would you respond? As he clutched his chest in desperation and pain, would you call 911? Would you try to save him from dying? Of course you would.<\/p>\n<p>But if that man was Rush Limbaugh, and you were Sarah Spitz, a producer for National Public Radio, that isn\u2019t what you\u2019d do at all.<\/p>\n<p>In a post to the list-serv Journolist, an online meeting place for liberal journalists, Spitz wrote that she would \u201cLaugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out\u201d as Limbaugh writhed in torment.<\/p>\n<p>In boasting that she would gleefully watch a man die in front of her eyes, Spitz seemed to shock even herself. \u201cI never knew I had this much hate in me,\u201d she wrote. \u201cBut he deserves it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8230;.without a whole lot of regard for their fellow citizen&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>When the writer Victor Davis Hanson wrote an article about immigration for National Review, for example, blogger Ed Kilgore didn\u2019t even bother to grapple with Hanson\u2019s arguments. Instead Kilgore dismissed Hanson\u2019s piece out of hand as \u201cthe kind of Old White Guy cultural reaction that is at the heart of the Tea Party Movement.
