{"id":11479,"date":"2010-06-18T06:54:05","date_gmt":"2010-06-18T11:54:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11479"},"modified":"2010-06-18T07:32:40","modified_gmt":"2010-06-18T12:32:40","slug":"11479","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11479","title":{"rendered":"Poll This"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/kstp.com\/news\/stories\/S1612790.shtml?cat=1\">KSTP\/Survey USA poll <\/a>yesterday confirmed my predictions on both counts.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8211; as I&#8217;ve been predicting for the past few weeks, Dayton seems to be pulling away.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Dayton \u2013 39<\/p>\n<p>Kelliher \u2013 26<\/p>\n<p>Entenza \u2013 22<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There are still eight weeks until the DFL primary, but Dayton&#8217;s out-state name recognition and years as a &#8220;Senator&#8221; are giving him a huge head start.\u00a0\u00a0<em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11472\">As I noted yesterday<\/a>, Emmers numbers were (expectedly) off from the May, post-convention numbers &#8211; but the match between Emmer and Dayton is a statistical tie.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Emmer \u2013 35<\/p>\n<p>Dayton \u2013 38<\/p>\n<p>Horner \u2013 12<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Remember, Republicans &#8211; the Dems are going to play this like the election is already over.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t believe the hype.\u00a0 This is the\u00a0 truth:\u00a0 Dayton is a former US Senator with huge name recognition across the state &#8211; and he&#8217;s polling within the margin against a state representative who three months ago was unknown to most non-GOP Minnesotans.<\/p>\n<p>That is, at the very least, not good news for Dayton or the DFL.<\/p>\n<p>Note that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11321\">Horner&#8217;s numbers from the ballyhooed PiPress poll from last week <\/a>do seem, as we noted here, to have been BS &#8211; off a solid third.\u00a0 If the PiPress poll wasn&#8217;t rigged (the poll was run by a friend of Horner&#8217;s), then it was too sloppy to worry about.<\/p>\n<p>Emmer and Kelliher?\u00a0 Not that it matters; it&#8217;ll take a miracle to get her through the primary&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Emmer \u2013 35<\/p>\n<p>Kelliher \u2013 33<\/p>\n<p>Horner \u2013 12<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8230;although Dayton has made a career out of giving his opponents miracles.\u00a0 Still, at this stage it seems the DFL endorsement is on track to remain the electoral kiss of death.<\/p>\n<p>Emmer and Entenza?\u00a0 Who cares &#8211; Entenza is DOA. But here y&#8217;go:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Emmer \u2013 37<\/p>\n<p>Entenza \u2013 33<\/p>\n<p>Horner \u2013 12<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Stick a fork\u00a0 in it.<\/p>\n<p>Some perspective here:\u00a0 in 2002, polls were showing Tim Pawlenty trailing Roger Moe by eight, and <em>Tim Penny <\/em>by 6 &#8211; in <em>September<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This campaign is shaping up pretty well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The KSTP\/Survey USA poll yesterday confirmed my predictions on both counts.
