{"id":11415,"date":"2010-06-16T07:19:52","date_gmt":"2010-06-16T12:19:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11415"},"modified":"2010-06-16T07:19:53","modified_gmt":"2010-06-16T12:19:53","slug":"why-are-they-always-on-the-wrong-side","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11415","title":{"rendered":"Why Are They Always On The Wrong Side"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tom Emmer has taken some heat &#8211; unjustified as usual &#8211; for a (out of context) remark in the Marshall newspaper last year:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI don\u2019t think you can call yourself a freedom-loving American and be a Democrat,\u201d Emmer said. \u201c<strong>I don\u2019t think that\u2019s a grassroots Democrat<\/strong> who says now \u2018That\u2019s not what I voted for, this isn\u2019t the America I want.\u2019 <strong>It\u2019s the leaders of the Democrat party<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Some Democrats have gotten exercised over the quote, lately &#8211; out<a href=\"http:\/\/emmerforgovernor.com\/about\/emmertruth\/2010\/06\/tom-emmer-freedom-loving-american-quote-is-taken-out-of-context.html\/\">-of-context, naturally<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Of course freedom-loving people can be Democrats&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;even though so many of their leaders\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/netrightdaily.com\/2010\/06\/sen-kennedy-offered-to-collaborate-with-soviets-against-reagan-kgb-documents-show\/\">S have sided with the world&#8217;s totalitarians, mass-murderers and tyrants<\/a> that it seems Emmer may have been too kind in his treatment of the left:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Senator Edward M. Kennedy offered to work in close concert with high level Soviet officials to sabotage President Ronald Reagan\u2019s re-election efforts and to arrange for congenial American press coverage of General Secretary Yuri Andropov, according to a 1983 KGB document.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s Ted Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>The patron saint of the mainstream Left in America.<\/p>\n<p>Actively working with the KGB against <em>then-President <\/em>Ronald Reagan.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the KGB; they of the Lubyanka and the Black Marias and the Gulag and show trials and sixty million dead Russians, Poles, Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, Germans.\u00a0 The KGB of the <em>Holodomor<\/em>, the government-imposed starvation of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>One more time from the heart:\u00a0 Ted Kennedy worked with the <strong>K G freaking B<\/strong> against a sitting President.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Specifically, Kennedy offered to have \u201crepresentatives of the largest television companies in the U.S. contact Y.V. Andropov for an invitation to Moscow for the interview.\u201d The idea here would be for the Soviet leader to make an end run around Reagan and make a direct appeal to the American people.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy suggested that Walter Cronkite, Barbara Walters and Elton Raul, the president of the board of directors for ABC, be considered for the interviews with Andropov in Moscow.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s Yuri Andropov &#8211; former KGB head, one of the architects of the &#8220;Prague Spring&#8221;, a man with rivers of human blood on his nicotine-stained hands &#8211; for whom Ted &#8220;Camelot!&#8221; Kennedy, leader of the &#8220;Mainstream&#8221; American left, was serving as a Public Relations flak.<\/p>\n<p>Question for all of you liberal hamsters who were calling Michele Bachmann and the Tea Party\u00a0&#8220;seditious&#8221; for fomenting suspicion of government, and who huffed &#8220;Don&#8217;t you <em>dare <\/em>question the left&#8217;s patriotism&#8221; between 2001 and 2008; where is the revulsion?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;ll happen as soon as the mainstream media covers Kennedy&#8217;s treachery:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The confidential correspondence between Sen.
