{"id":11323,"date":"2010-06-08T16:12:41","date_gmt":"2010-06-08T21:12:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11323"},"modified":"2010-06-08T16:12:41","modified_gmt":"2010-06-08T21:12:41","slug":"persistent-question-late-breaking-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=11323","title":{"rendered":"Persistent Question + Late Breaking News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0There are two ways to look at today&#8217;s PiPress\/<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">Horner<\/span> &#8220;Decision Resources&#8221; poll.<\/p>\n<p>One of them is accurate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Option 1<\/strong>:\u00a0 The sky really <em>is <\/em>falling in on the Emmer campaign, and Tom Horner &#8211; a government insider whose very face screams &#8220;slick operator&#8221; &#8211; really <em>did <\/em>post a nine point gain by selecting a nobody for a running mate and promising to raise taxes in the most anti-tax year in Minnesota memory.\u00a0 Honest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Option 2<\/strong>:\u00a0 Worried that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com\/2010\/05\/26\/another-poll-on-minn-govs-race\/\">actual reputable polls were showing Emmer pulling into leads <\/a>over all three DFL stooges <em>and <\/em>the would-be spoiler Horner, alarmed by a record surge in MNGOP voter ID and trying to forestall wholesale demoralization among a DFL rank and file that has to look forward to\u00a0 two more months of brutal campaigning followed by getting behind one of three of the\u00a0least interesting characters in recent Minnesota political history,\u00a0\u00a0the left &#8211; Horner and the DFL &#8211; commissioned a fairly transparently bogus poll to keep their troops&#8217; morale up.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m gonna bank on #2.<\/p>\n<p>So is the MNGOP, who has just <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mngop.com\/pdfs\/cfbletterhorner.pdf\">filed a complaint <\/a>in the past hour with the campaign finance board over the fishy-looking conflicts of interest between Horner and the polling organization involved in the PiPress poll.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Relax, conservatives.\u00a0 The Minnesota Left is calling in its markers with the consulting class and the media.\u00a0 They&#8217;re doing it because Emmer scares the crap out of them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0There are two ways to look at today&#8217;s PiPress\/Horner &#8220;Decision Resources&#8221; poll.
