{"id":1020,"date":"2007-07-07T08:15:57","date_gmt":"2007-07-07T14:15:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/index.php\/index.php\/2007\/07\/07\/i-want-to-ride-my-bicycle-thoughts-on-morning-jaunt\/"},"modified":"2009-04-10T08:14:03","modified_gmt":"2009-04-10T13:14:03","slug":"i-want-to-ride-my-bicycle-thoughts-on-morning-jaunt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=1020","title":{"rendered":"I Want To Ride My Bicycle &#8211; Thoughts On Morning Jaunt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>End of week two of bike commuting and, when time and energy permits, riding a bit more just for fun.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;ve just recovered a memory from about 20 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>One of my favorite things in the whooooooole world, I&#8217;ve re-realized, is passing the Saint Paul Cathedral, and continuing down the long hill onto John Ireland Boulevard &#8211; the broad, monument-dotted avenue that connects the Cathedral and the Capitol &#8211; and just unwinding, sailing as fast as I can past the Cathedral, the First Minnesota Memorial, St. Paul College and the Historical Society, and crossing Kellogg and over the freeway&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and then hotfooting a hard right onto the frontage road below the Capitol and in front of the Veterans Building, blasting over the overpass past Saint Joseph&#8217;s Hospital onto Saint Peter Street, a one-way with almost too little traffic to worry about (although I worry about it, have no fear).<\/p>\n<p>It <em>can <\/em>get better than this, but it&#8217;s not easy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>End of week two of bike commuting and, when time and energy permits, riding a bit more just for fun.
