I can’t believe I missed this one last week; Lori Sturdevant asks:<\/a><\/p>\n

Is DFL Senate majority leader growing more conservative on the job? <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That’s easy.\u00a0 No.<\/span><\/p>\n

But Pogemiller’s no idiot.\u00a0 I mean, he doesn’t have to be smart <\/em>in the classical sense to keep winning a seat in his district, but he’s not dumb, either.\u00a0 He can see which way the wind is blowing. <\/span><\/p>\n

And in a year when the dominant sentiment is “throw the taxing, spending bums out”, having a statement like <\/span>\u201cI think it\u2019s simplistic and naive to say people can spend their money better than the government<\/a>” on one’s record can’t be good electoral mojo.<\/p>\n

So it makes perfect sense that someone like Pogy would enlist some willing flaks – that’d be Sturdevant – to try to paper over that long record of “all of your money are belong to us”-type statements, made back when it looked like Obama’s shirt-tails were going to stretch all the way into the next century.<\/p>\n

But underneath it all?\u00a0 It’s gonna be the same old story.<\/p>\n

By the way, I’m going to put that quote on a sign to take to the Tea Party.<\/p>\n

Along with Cy Thao’s classic “When you win, you get to keep your money, when we win, we take your money”.<\/p>\n
