\"Man<\/a><\/td>\n<\/td>\nFridley, MN – 2\/14\/2018\u00a0<\/strong> –\u00a0<\/strong>Immediately after a four-car accident on Central Avenue in Fridley, a man – Simon Schiffler – got out of the car, groped a woman, and then tried to stab a man through his driver’s side window with a knife.\u00a0 Another motorist – with a carry permit and a handgun – intervened.\u00a0 When Shiffler charged him with the knife, the motorist fired, mortally wounding the attacker.\u00a0 In May, the Anoka county attorney declined to press charges<\/a>, noting that it looked like self-defense.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\n<\/td>\nInver Grove Heights, MN – 8\/17\/17 –\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>A clerk at a Verizon store in Inver Grove shot an armed robber<\/a>. \u00a0 The clerk had a carry permit. \u00a0The robber survived, wounded. \u00a0The IGH cops may not say as much, but the clerk is a hero.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"James<\/td>\n<\/td>\nMinneapolis, MN – 8\/3\/17<\/strong> – <\/strong><\/strong>Hennepin County attorney\u2019s office stated that 65-year-old James LaCount, of Minnetonka would not be prosecuted for fatally shooting Thomas Luetzow on June 23 at a Minnetonka storage facility<\/a>. \u00a0The police report noted that LaCount’ actions were not inconsistent with heroism.<\/p>\n

\"screen-shot-2016-09-20-at-12-02-24-pm\"<\/a><\/td>\n<\/td>\nSaint Cloud, MN, 9\/17\/2016 –\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>Dahir Ahmed Adan, ostensibly mentally-ill but by other accounts also intending to strike a blow for Jihad, stabbed ten people at the Crossroads Mall in Saint Cloud<\/a>, asking potential victims if they were Muslim, before being engaged by Jason Falconer, who killed Adan with his legally-permitted handgun. \u00a0Media reports identified Falconer as an off-duty cop; he is in fact a part-time officer in tiny Albany, Minnesota. \u00a0But he’s also a competitive shooter and carry permit trainer who is actively engaged in teaching Minnesota civilians<\/a> do do…what he did that night. \u00a0,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
News story<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/td>\nBrooklyn Center, MN, 3\/12\/2016<\/strong> – <\/strong>17 year old Gary Lamar Townsend, with an accomplice, apparently got into an argument with another fellow in line outside a Foot Locker. \u00a0The argument ended with Townsend shooting the man twice. \u00a0A carry permittee then hit Townsend, wounding him and sending the two assailants fleeting. \u00a0No charges.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
News Story<\/a><\/td>\n<\/td>\n\u00a0Brooklyn Park, MN, 2\/23\/2016<\/strong> – A would-be robber ran up against a citizen with a carry permit. \u00a0Both men opened fire. \u00a0The robber died. \u00a0 Happy ending.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n<\/td>\nSaint Paul, MN, 7\/31\/2015<\/strong> – Using a couple of stolen guns, 16 year old Lavauntai Broadbent and a small group of accomplices tried to hold up a man on East River Road in Saint Paul. \u00a0The man – a carry permittee – shot back, killing Broadbent<\/a>. \u00a0The shooting was quickly ruled justified – much to the dismay of much of the neighborhood, who’d rather see people get robbed without protest.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n<\/td>\nMinneapolis, 2011 –\u00a0<\/strong>Darren Evanovich and his sister attempted to rob a Latina cleaning woman in the parking lot\u00a0of the East Lake Street Cub Foods in Minneapolis. \u00a0A good samaritan attempted to get the purse back – and Evanovich drea a gun. \u00a0The samaritan shot first. \u00a0Evanovich’s family tried to make it a racial incicent – until it came out that the family was basically a criminal enterprise. \u00a0 The Henco attorney declined to press charges, and all but called the shooter a hero<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
