It was 1980. Thomas Sowell – one of the greatest economic and political minds of the the past century – was being considered for a role in the Reagan White House.
Which provoked a, er, predictable response.
Which prompted Sowell to give the only response it deserved:
And it’s the same response needed next time some smug white progressive calls you a “Nazi” or “Fascist” for being a conservative.
Or, for that matter, when some sm
That’s just awesome. Thank you, Mitch.
I’ve been a fan of Dr. Sowell for years. In fact, his statements pulled me out of DemoCommie hell.
It’s disgustingly interesting to hear how the question is phrased such that the interrogator can insult and abuse Dr Sowell to his face. By pretending to ask the question on the behalf of others he shows that both he and those others are cowardly low-lifes incapable of arguing their case on its merits.
Sowell’s response, put into words that a white man like myself might rightly use, is “how’s that NAA(L)CP plan working out in places like Gary, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, and Minneapolis?” Whether the NAA(L)CP likes it or not, Sowell is correct that the results in the inner city have their stamp on them, and transitively on their sponsors. If the NAA(L)CP does not like being associated with the results, they can work to try something different, and either tick off the liberal sponsors or get them on board.
